Passport to Connecticut Libraries
April 1 - 30, 2026
Over 15 million items, over 150 participating libraries, 1 library card!
Your library card opens the world to you through physical books, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs – as well as downloadable or streaming version of the same products. Now let your library card open the doors of Connecticut libraries by participating in the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program!
To celebrate National Library Week during April, the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program invites you to visit all of the participating libraries. Each library has its own architecture, vibe, and collection to explore and browse! The program is open to adults and children, and the hope is that it encourages residents to explore the amazing diversity of our public libraries.
To begin, stop by Otis Library to pick up your Passport. We will stamp it and give you a useful gift to get you started. Then, take your Passport along as you visit other participating libraries. At each visit, you must show your library card, then the library will stamp your passport and may give you another small gift.
If you visit at least 5 participating libraries and return your passport to a participating library you will be entered into a statewide drawing for a chance to win a prize. Six winners will be selected: 1 adult and 1 child from a random drawing from all who visited at least 5 libraries, 1 adult and 1 child who visited the most libraries, and 1 adult and 1 child who visited at least 25 libraries.
How it Works:
- Visit Otis Library to pick up your Passport starting April 1st, 2026.
- We will stamp your Passport to get you started (You will also receive an exclusive Otis Library giveaway).
- Visit the participating libraries, get your passport stamped, and submit your completed passport at a participating library to be entered to win a $200 Visa Gift Card!
- Visits must occur between April 1 and April 30. This is a statewide contest where six winners will be selected: one adult and one child from a random drawing from all who visited at least five libraries, one adult and one child from a random drawing from all who visited the most libraries, and one one adult and one child from a random drawing from all who visited at least 25 libraries.
- Passports must be turned in to be entered into the prize drawing. If you’d like to keep your passport, you’re welcome to submit a copy.
