The Otis Library is the main microfilm repository for the Norwich Bulletin. Our collection includes the newspaper’s earliest antecedents including editions of the colonial era Norwich Packet which began publishing in 1773 just prior to the American Revolution. The Norwich Packet continued publication under the supervision of John Trumbull through the year 1802. Following the acquisition of the newspaper by new owners the masthead of the newspaper was changed to the Norwich Courier from 1802-1858. The newspaper was rechristened the Norwich Bulletin in 1858 several years before the outbreak of the American Civil War.
