Visit our fun and bright space full of books, toys, coloring, and computers. We provide materials, events, and services for children, birth through 11 years. Our friendly staff are happy to recommend great books for every age and reading level. Come to read, play, learn, and connect!

StoryWalk®* at Mohegan Park
Visit Mohegan Park to read Marianne the Maker by Kelly Corrigan and Claire Corrigan Lichty, illustrated by George Sweetland. Read the story as you stroll along the peaceful, accessible path surrounding Spaulding Pond at Norwich’s beautiful Mohegan Park.
What is a StoryWalk®?
Laminated pages from a picturebook are posted along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you are directed to the next page of the story.
StoryWalk® encourages people of all ages (who says picturebooks are just for kids?) to enjoy the outdoors and reading at the same time. StoryWalks® have been installed across the nation and around the world!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Reading aloud to your child is an essential part of language development. The 1000 Books program was designed to help with the process. Visit the Library after each 100 books read to receive a sticker, new log sheet, and prize for select milestones.

researchIT CT for Elementary School
researchIT CT is the Connecticut State Library’s free research engine for use by libraries, schools, faculty, students, and residents throughout the state. For easier use, the search interface and databases have been curated for Elementary School students.
Learn a Language
KidSpeak™ is a fun, age-appropriate online language course designed for children ages 6 and up! Accessible through Transparent Language Online, KidSpeak introduces your children to English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Mandarin Chinese.
The program teaches words and phrases suitable for learners’ age, needs, and interests. More than 40 activities, puzzles, and songs guide young learners through the basics, along with a cartoon “friend” who speaks the language.
KidSpeak™ can be used through a web browser on a computer.
